SOUP is an international improv duo formed by Cindy Pittens and Andrei Bratu. In a 2 month residency in Romania in 2024, they found their improv-soulmate. Energywise and in looks, they are opposites. But they found common ground in their shared artistic vision. With backgrounds in teaching at festivals and improv bootcamps, performing, and directing across multiple countries, Cindy and Andrei bring warmth, playfulness, and theatrical depth to every stage.
KINDRED SOULS by SOUP
Kindred Souls is a long-form improv show about our two souls
who reunite across multiple lifetimes, in different eras,
in various forms and relationships.
Inspired by Mircea Eliade’s themes of fate and reincarnation, each performance explores love, conflict, and destiny in unpredictable ways.
Within beautiful dynamics - humor, absurdity and truthfulness alternates.
With audience suggestions, we create a unique, unscripted journey where one thing is certain—our souls will always meet again.
Will our souls recognize eachother in these parallel universes?

Cindy Pittens, a vibrant Dutch improviser with a lifelong theatre background, has been improvising since 2010. Passionate about human development and improv, she studied Playful Social Work, Theatre/Comedy,and Innovative Training.
Since 2016, she has taught improv through her company,
CP IMPRO, learning from renowned teachers like Keith Johnstone, Joe Bill, and Inbal Lori. In 2023 she attended 20hrs/wk The Improvisation School (Calgary) with Shawn Kinley.
Her international career took off in 2023, teaching at the Short Notice Festival (Oslo), Impro-Amsterdam’24, and Improteca (Bucharest). Since she has performed in Romania, Greece, Ireland, and Egypt and is part of Dutch improv group De Meneertjes.
Cindy loves when improvisers stay present, playing alive and vibrant characters rather than chasing humor. She coaches towards true connection, honesty, and real expression of the self. This brings the audience into the moment, whether inrealistic or fantastical scenes.
If you are real, the audience will experience reality. She brings high energy and a safe space for everything that is; in this reality or any imaginary one.

ANDREI BRATU
​Andrei Bratu is a versatile actor and stage partner, known for his adaptability and support in every scene. With a rich repertoire of well-defined characters, he seamlessly blends into any story, stepping forward only when needed—and when he does, he gives it his all.
At the core of his improv is a love for witnessing stories coming to life with honesty, embracing both subtle moments and daring choices, and building real connections with friends on stage.
As a highly regarded theater and improvisation trainer, he patiently guides students in discovering the simplicity of improvisation through presence, active listening, and responsiveness. Andrei has been teaching personal development through improvisation for over a decade.
A pioneer of long-form improvisation in Romania, he has performed at numerous festivals and currently collaborates with the Elisabeta Theater in Bucharest. He is a member of Urban Impro and founder of Improteca, where he performs and teaches classical theater, short- and longform improvisation, and musical improv for all levels.

Here’s how it goes:

We watch your show.
We sit in the audience, laugh with you, cheer for you, and notice what makes your group tick. -
We chat.
After the show, we meet for a one-hour conversation full of feedback, ideas, and questions—so we understand what you want to explore. -
We workshop!
The next day, we roll up our sleeves for a full day of playful, focused improv training, designed around your needs and wishes.

ensemble, with the goal of helping you shine brighter together on stage.
